Vieja mix with strong black belt genes, no way thats pure black belt though

I personally favor black belts to syns, as far as rarity goes that based on area. I've seen more black belts than syns where I live

I'm still pretty new at this, why the favor for black belts?
The colors on this one made me think it was a syn.. It's only around 3in from head to end of tail. Think I should go back and trade him for a regular syn? Bc I know I saw some that were plain and definitely looked like a syn.

It's all preference really, for me black belts look better and I like them better then syns. If it was sold as a syn more than likely the others won't be pure syns either

Nope. Not a syn.
My first question would be is how large is this fish? If its still quite juvi it could still be changing. I think it looks like a blackbelt aka vieja maculacada. But very young. I've got 2 blackbelts one about 3.5 to 4 inches the other only about 2 to 3 inches. The smaller one looks like that sometimes depending on its mood. Its starting to make the changes to what it should look like. It could very well be a full on bb. It might be a hybrid. Either way I think your going to end up with a beautiful fish.
