I got him as a hitchhiker from a bunch of LR I got a couple of days ago. I didn't really notice it was there until I saw this anemone thing sticking out from underneath a rock. It was in a shady part of the tank, underneath some other rocks because I didn't notice it when I was scaping the rocks. Next morning, I saw it moved right to the top of the rocks where there is the most light. I thought it was kinda cool at first, then I suddenly remembered that it could be aiptasia, because I remember I've seen pictures of it. I looked it up but I'm still not 100% certain that it is or isn't.

Can you guys confirm for me?!?

The one on the right is Aptasia. Just take some liquid calcium and pour on it. It will kill it.

Yeah, I meant to say the one right in the middle of the picture.

So I take the whole rock out and pour liquid calcium on it? I got some calcium in powder which I can mix up, if that's what you mean.

Will it kill the Xenia as well? Maybe I should just drip it on.

But thanks for the quick reply!

I use a syringe and fill it with liquid calcium and then I would take the rock out and just squirt the aptaisa and wait a few then put it back in the tank. You can buy a shrimp it may or may not help. Good Luck.

I use a hypodermic needle and Vinegar. haha. Calcium will work to they basically melt right away. It messes with there osmatic pressure. i find vinegar works the best for me.

I know some will not agree with using vinegar because it is an acid but you use very little and unless your tank is really small it will not effect pH.

Cool! Once again you guys have been very helpful! Thanks!

I would try peppermint shrimp first. Shrimps are cool to watch and no risk of tank contamination.

They do work but they sometime will eat Zoanthids and mess with some corals as well. You just have to keep your eye on those little buggers if you go that route.

Thanks, I have one peppermint, and I have no problem with aiptasia, but I only have mushrooms and a trumpet.
