well over the last week i have noticed an increasing amount of tiny white algae looking circles all over the glass in the tank, i have a big pleco but he doesnt go anywhere near it he only eats leftovers from the other fish. I have a magnet glass cleaner but it is not strong enough i have to stick my hand in it and do it myself. Does anyone know what this is??? heres a pic, its not the best but its the best i can do at the moment.

It looks like "slime". I don't know what the real name of it is, but I wipe it off my glass weekly. It comes of easily with either a Mag Float or algae sponge.

If it's hard to get off them maybe it's some sort of calcium or hard water deposit.

sounds to me like:

a. Too close to a window

b. Too many fish

c. Too little water changes

d. Too much feeding

e. All of the above

take you pick

I've never seen white "algae" grown by sunlight. If it is that hard, I'd guess calcium deposits as well. I wouldn't expect that pleco to eat all the algae. Not all plecos eat algae alone. They need other foods in order to survive.
