My 3yo twins dumped a bottle of blue of food coloring into my 55g freshwater tank while I was doing laundry. I did a 50% water change, pulled out the silk plants.

It is a lightly planted tank as well with 3 Anubis, a Java fern, and Java moss. I have Corys, swords, platties as well as an albino bristlenose. Am I going to have to start watching everything die or will I be able to do water changes daily ( smaller ones like 20%) until the food coloring is mostly gone?

if it food grade probably won't kill anything just keep doing the water changes. Add some activated carbon to absorb the dye as well.

I think you nailed it. If you have a glass tank I hope your silicone is black or hasn't gotten dyed.

Good point yeah it may stain the silicone. I have seen a few tanks with blue silicone from methylene blue being used.
