one of my senegals has a weird tail. its just happened within the past few weeks and at first i kind of shrugged it off as just one of those things but now im not sure. ill try and get a picture in the next day but until then ill describe it for you, hope you can understand this: the end of the tail is red-ish and it seems sort of crimped to a small degree in two places. first it would seem that its fat body suddenly quits being its body and turns in a tail which is not completely lined up with the main body's direction, it turns to one side at a small angle. lower down the fins go in a different direction, again to a small degree. and this section which appears to be its tail is only 1" long if that, head to tail fin tip its about 5". that doesnt seem right, 1" seems to small to be the actual tail. like i said, pics are coming soon but until then this will have to do. does this sound familiar to anyone? i know that when some fish get ready to spawn their tail turn red and im wondering if this could be whats going on. what do you guys think? this is a well fed fish and is quite robust, im wondering though if its not just weight, if maybe its carrying eggs or something. please help if help is needed, and if its nothing or its normal let me know. i want to take good care of this fish and if something is seriously wrong i want to have it corrected.
