Hi, I have an acrylic 150 gallon tank that clearly has an embedded "150" on it so I assume it's 150 gallons. Yet, when I run it through this calculator online it shows it as about 110 gallons. Can someone measure their tank and see if it's accurate? I'm hoping I can house my Aro's in this for a couple years until they outgrow it..

yes it is accurate. I tried several different dimensions and the all came up correct.

What are the dimensions of your tank? This is much more important to housing arowana then actual volume.

60 inch x 18 inch x 24 inch

It only shows up as 110 gallons, though the sticker on the tanks says 150. How many years do you think I'll be able to handle the Silver in here before he gets too big for it?

one year assuming its between 4-10" right now.

Good guideline is tank length 3x the aros length and the width/depth should be at least equal to the aros length. So your tank will be fine for an 18" aro, could probably push 21".

Silver aros grow on average 1 to 1.5" per month. Some may grow a little faster and some slower, but likely this is the growth rate you'll see.

MFK has a calculator. Check the tool bar up top.

in inches, length x width x hight devided by 231 give you U.S Gallons.
About 3.8 LTR to a U.S gallon
