Care to elaborate? This may help others looking at doing something similar make an informed choice.

I have seen it used once or twice here in Taiwan in a "fun" tank. But it was not the same as the pics you provided.

I've had this in my tank for 3 years fish is fine, I washed with a mild detergent and let it sit in the sun for a few days then put it in my tank and haven't looked back I am just replacing it as we speak and will be siliconing it in tomorrow if its thatched and not bound by adhesives i think you will be fine.
