Check ammonia and nitrites - if both are 0, then its ok..also make few tests for nitrates during the week, so you will see how fast they build up, then you can calculate how often and how much of water changes you need to keep nitrates low :)

What is the volume of water? In only 50 gallons that bioload would be very high. In 2000 gallons it would be nearly non existent.

A 125g, for example, makes a great growout tank for these size fish.............The arowana can live it life out in it by itself.............The ntt and tiger shovelnose will definitely need a larger tank within a year..........

I'm no aro expert but I don't think it can live its life in a 125 either.

OP, what size is your tank?

Wrong on the arowana...and ntts grow very slow..a 5 inch ntt has way more then a year in that tank

True. Dats grow slow and can live in that 125 for awhile. Arowana on the other hand grow fast and get huge. I saw one about year ago in a 210. It looked very small in that tank. The guy told me it was 18". And it looked like it was having a hard time turning around in the 210.
