about a month ago i went to petco and found some "white" saums so as badly as i have been wanting one i bought it without a second thought. well, now that "white" saum i thought i had is now an orange saum. Is it common for this to happen?
heres a pic of him/her now. i dont have one when him/her was a white saum.

Yes it is common for young gold saums in the pet store to look like it's a white but once home and settled in the color comes out and what you thought was a whate was infact a gold. It didn't change from a white to a gold saum it just colored up.

The green terror you have is the gold saum. The white saum is the same fish with white finnage instead of gold. There is the true green terror with white fins but it is a differnt kind of fish.

is there a way to tell the difference between gold and white saums in pet stores? this is my first gt

Look for a fish that is a little older where the saum is more defined. Small fish often have such a thin saum it looks white, I've seen this many times.

Alright thanks and it was thin i thought it would thickin up or fill out as he got older which it did just orange now
