If any of yo have ever been to china town in LA, I am sure you have seen the little baby turtles they sell. I bought one just for kicks, but the dang thing kept turning herself upside down and finally did it while I wasn't around and couldn't get back over and drowned herself. Does thids happen frequently with baby turtles> or was mine just retarded?

sometimes this happens, my question to you is how deep was the water. The depth of the water for turtles is alway twice as deep as they are wide. This is so is they do turn over they have a chance to roll back over. could have just been a stupid turtle.

It was a red eared turtle, at least that is what I have heard that they are. No, the water was only about as deep as it was wide. I still had it in the container that they gave it to me in. I was on vacation in California, and didn't have anything else handy to put it in. Oh well, I guess if ever get another i will know better. I still think it was a retarded turtle though.

i have seen a lot of those turtles get stuck because the water is to shallow
i got 4 of those one time, kept them in a 10 gal with turtle dock and stuff with a couple of inches of water and none of them have had trouble flipping over, so you would need deeper water

Oh damn... I thought this was about those sea turtle ones that were popular about a decade ago before they got banned.

Sound like you need deeper water.
