My 7-8" Vieja Argentea has continued to develop this skeletal disease as its grown on its bony finlets. Each white spot is bony to the touch, grown from the bony fins. Everywhere else besides the fins is perfect. It eats only Hikari massivore delite, lives with large Datnoids in a 170g. Temp between 80-83 degrees, ph 6.0-6.5. Is this a genetic disorder or disease? Two posibilties I can think of, Lymphocystis which is viral and there is no cure, the good news is while it's ugly it's not fatal in most cases unless it becomes so sever it degrads the fishes quality of life. It may also come and go with flair ups and remissions. The other possibilty is and incysted parasite that needs an intermediated host ie a bird that eats the fish, to reproduce. The cysts may remaine perminantly or be reabsorbed buy the body, this is not fatal either again just unsightly. You find this on a lot of wild cought fish. There is no treatment for either condition. Since this is only on the fins I would lean towards the latter but without the benifit of clinical analysis it's really just a guess.
