I have a 90gal growout tank with 1 mono 2 tems and an aro right now. My plan was to build a 8x3x2 tank but im thinking instead of the tems i might get rid of them and drop in some orinos and kelberis for probably a total of 5 bass 1 aro and possibly some sort of cat to clean the bottom maybe a TSN. Is this doable or do you think I would have that 360gal tank overstocked?

I would imagine with a big wet/dry and perhaps a Fluval FX5 it could be done. I'll tell you now, IME Kelberi/Orinos grow relatively slow compared to most pbass, my monos are passing the kelberi up very quickly as far as growth is concerned and the monos were actually smaller than the kelberi I had. So that'd be my only concern. Otherwise a large wet/dry with a good return pump and good aeration and it should be okay IMO.

I was thinking doing 2 large wet dry filters with 2 about 1200gph pumps.. as far as the fish go im thinking that the mono and the aro would be this tanks first inhabitants and when big enough the kelbs and orinos would be added.

That should work.. Be carefull with two sumps.... You've got to connect them or else one will eventually overflow and one will dry up.

One sump is better than an FX5 any day.. just make sure you have run several pumps so that a dead one won't kill all of your fish quickly... Which is another reason why two independent sumps WON'T WORK.

i think thats very doable! go for it.. i have a 340gal (6x3x2.5) with 7 adult cichla and a 2ft silver aro.. been in there for a while now and there as healthy as ever and very active..

well i have realized my plans of moving and being able to build that tank are going to have to be put off for now so i think im going to be getting rid of my cichla and aro :-( but i will be restocking the 90.. dont get me wrong im not getting out of the cichla game just taking a break.. i will probly be putting the cichla i have up for sale on here shortly mainly because i want to see one of the people on here end up with them as i know they will be well taken care of..
