image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg I started a thread about my FLowerhorn can't swim probably after the Epsom salt oral.

Now he have a swollen left side, it's like dropsy with protruding scale but it's now full body. Just in a spot and I believed it's on his muscle and not in his organ cavity. Could this a bacteria infection secondary with hex infection? I have API general cure on me so should I treat him with that or wait for the flowerhorn specific Meds call "clear"

Currently have around 70ml of Epsom salt in the 20 gallon tank. Temperature raised to 86.5F. And I replace the small airdrome with a long one created more air.

I tried the general cure yesterday but he reacted poorly to it, he kept trying to jump out of the water and turn dark. So I did a 50% water change, filled the tank back, and did another 50% change. He was back to his lethargic state with full color after that. It is a allergic reaction to it? Or did the parasitic killing drug in it made the oxygen deplete?

I'm at a lost, he's my favorite pet and I don't want to loose him. Thinking of getting a needle to aspirate the water

Anything helps guys

P.s I can't get the picture down to the bottom, my phone is being stupid. The pic was taken yesterday, now it has increase about 20% in size. I'm at work so I can't take a new picture.

Update, look like he won't make it. He can't swim probably again. His body swells up at an incredible rate.

Note to self, when you see your fish have a disease (i.e white poop and no appetite), try to treat it immediately and don't let the fish "immune system" do the work

What I mean is that my flowerhorn shows sign and symptom of white feces. I found out the next day it's hex and the third day I bought the necessary Meds. But on the third day he poop fine with colored poop and eat like crazy for a whole week. Thought his immune system took care of it and continue my day.

1 week later or 3 days ago, he became lethargic out of nowhere. His body started to swell at a rapid rate. Epsom salt bath nor direct in aquarium does not work. Tried to ordered Meds but it is late for one day.

Thanks you all for reading and people who replied to me on the previous thread.

sorry to hear mate I've lost fish from dropsy aswell and it's stressing to say the least
How's he doing?

This is the first time I've encounter dropsy in my 5 years into the hobby. He's very lethargic and pale. He lays near a rock and with my help, I made him lean on it in a upright orientation and not upside down.

He still hanging in there, wiggle when I put my hand on the glass.

I did give him 10mg of metro in 0.5mL syringe via mouth, and dose the whole 20 gallon with API general cute just to see if it can do anything. He did swim when I tried to pick him up, albeit very slowly.

I feel like euthanize him but I want to see if he can fight this, also I just received "clear" flowerhorn's Meds too. Don't know if I should give it to him or not. Or just continue with 10mg-20mg of metro directly.

Thanks for the reply
