I'm picking up my first monster tank for my Dats. It's a 200 Gallon Glass 84"x24"x24".

I know most people use wet/drys. But I have some canisters already here and I just picked up another new one free. Would this be enough filtration for a medium stocked 200?

Rena XP3 (Can)
350 gph
Fluval 403 (Can) 317 gph
AC 110 (HOB) 500 gph

with two power heads to move water ones at 300GPH and another at 400GPH

Also would 2 300Watt Heaters be fine? I already have one but figure maybe 2 would be better, one on each side?

thoughts?

Scrap the powerheads they basicly just waste electricity. I really like Fluval canisters But I'd retire the 403. The 404/405 is a FAR FAR better design. Also I always recomend using the same type of filters rather than mixing equipment.

The most economical thing to do would be to pick up another xp3 and then double the AC110's

Personally I'd run a single FX5 on that tank along with a pair of E400's with supercartrages but that's just me....(This set up plus two hydro5 air driven sponge filters is what I use on our 240.

GPH without the proper filtration backing it up is worthless. You also can't really include the powerheads in the turn over rate because all they are doing is moving water around.

The main problem with using more, smaller, filters is that they tend to clog quickly and increase your maintance load.
