under a bridge in fl
just curious on if this is enough.
i know the pump needs to be bigger, only 550gph,but what about the rest.
240g
i will start where the water starts

overflows the side
then to a drip plate
then to a/c filter padding,2 layers
then the next level is felt
then down to more felt
"all that is about 5g"
then to bio balls "5g of those" half in water, half out
then through the 2" tube down to the 2nd filter
bottom filter
first,another drip plate
then to 7g of bio balls in the bio box
then to about 10g of bio balls underwater, under the bio box
then to scrubbies and sponges about 7g of those
2 bags of carbon
then through 2" thick sponge
then pump and heater
"those gallons are just media not the actual sumps gallons"

comments?

that's more than enough. maybe a larger pump in the range 0f 700-900gph seeing that you only have 1 drain from the top filter to the bottom filter any stronger than that and you might have a overflow problem from the top filter.

The side drop filter on its own is enough filtration. Apart from adding a bit extra water volume, the rest of your filter isnt doing much. It isnt even adding any extra redundancy unless you have a second pump hidden in there. It might give you peace of mind somehow so if thats the case then keep it.
