I just recently pick up a 180g with 2 overflow on each corner of the tank. This is my first time owning a drilled tank with overflow, but I've used a sump with overflow box before. I don't know if there any different, but the way I look at it is that the coner overflow are much better.

Now as you can see in the pictures I got 2 wet/dry sump and 1 xp3. The one in the middle are about 40g-50g sump (not sure). Everything is all connected, all I need for that sump is top cover with 2 holes dril. I got a RIO 2500 pump return for it.

On the right side I got 30g sump with overflow box. every is completed, just add water in it, but this one is with overflow box. pump I got RIO 2100.

and the xp3.

My question would be

is this enough filteration for my 180g?
does I really need the 30g sump and the xp3?
Should I get rid of some filtration?
the more filtration the better?

any advise, suggestion or comment would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I think it isn't enough. You should get rid of the T and add another Rio. Then drill the overflow and add another drain.

You have a lot of bio filtration. It should handle a large bio load. You are light in the mech filtration, but that is not necessarily bad. If you don't get crazy with the number/size of fish you put in there and don't mind seeing a little poop on the bottom glass, you should get along just fine.

so you guys think I will need more canister for more Mec?

what are you going to use for a drip plate on the big sump? You don't need another canister if you can pack a drip plate with blue bonded, felt, or floss.

Also, I would remove the sponge in the big sump. Maybe just leave the one between the pump chamber and bio chamber to diffuse bubbles. You should have the mech in the wet/dry before it hits the bio-balls. Otherwise you will get a collection of waste on the bio balls and have a nitrate nightmare.

I also didn't notice the overflow baffles in the tank and was looking at just the HOB overflow with a single line... Are you going to run both sumps?

just put more filter floss ontop of the bioballs, and you should be fine.
