Hi,
I have a 180 gallon 6x2x2 tank and was wondering if a fluval fx5....a fluval 405....eheim 2213 and a large power head would be sufficient filtration........

Would really appreciate any replys.:feedback:

do you already have these filters? does your tank have a built in overflow? if you have a built in overflow i would suggest running a DIY sump. I myself just aquired a 180g 6x2x2 and built my own sump. it only cost me about $125. i went to big lots and bought a 30g bin and 3 containers. some pot scrubbers and pillow stuffing. drilled holes in the containers and bought a 2200gph pump on ebay for 70 bux. ran a pipe up to the return nozzle and was done with it. its simple and affective and im pretty sure all those canisters aren't cheap.

cheers for the replies!
yea i already have these filters running on my 6x2x2,theres alot of water movement and the tanks clear but i still wonder if i need more filtration. The fish in the tank are ,,,4 large silver sharks ranging from 7inch to 12 ich, 2 large tinfoil barbs, 1 large severum and a syndontis catfish.

I have no experience with canisters so i dont know if thats enough. if anything you could throw some HOB filters like a AC110 or EMP400 for some good mechanical filtration.

Thats fine filtration for that tank.

No problems at all.
Make sure to do regular weekly water changes and your tank will be pristine.
(weekly WC's shuold be done with any filtration)

Thanks fine for filtration.

I wouldn't use carbon though.

What biomedia are you running?
