I decided to try something new, I put a female zebra oblisque cichlid with my male flowerhorn

The male chased it a bit but didn't beat her up...

so

do you think they can produce babies???

different breeding method. he wouldnt be able to fertilize the eggs. not to mention he would attempt to lip lock and beat the living hell out of her.

and i do love astatilapia latifasciatas, you need a full colony though!

Probably not, but try it out....you just never know....

It might be possible, but I highly doubt it. You have to figure most hybrids are "species" crosses or "genus" crosses. Something like this would probably be family or order cross and thus very, very difficult.
Either way unless you really like your female, I would say go for it. Although I don't know if I would like the outcome. :j/k:

not a chance
