Hey guys, I had recently picked up a turquoise sev that was being bullied by some blood parrots at petsmart. He was frayed up pretty bad and I only quarantined him for about 2 days (yes I know, my fault) but yesterday he had a sizeable ick outbreak. I removed him from the tank (yes i'm aware that it's in my system now) went ahead and salted and raised temp on the tank but then decided to do a bit of an experiment. In his bucket I went ahead and used very warm water (probably in the range of 88-90 degrees F) and salted heavily (2tbsp of salt/gallon) and 24 hours later I put him in a clear container while changing the water in his bucket and all of his visible ick spots appear to be gone. It's probably still in his system but I had never known salt baths to totally take out all of the visible larvae from a fish in that short amount of time. I went ahead and put him in a new bucket of water and adding salt. Anybody else have similar experiences with this where the treatment appeared to act so quickly? (Still a bit worried about the main tank but so far no spots on anybody, fingers crossed)
