i feed twice a day. Morning and night.. morning i feed a combination of Hikari sinking pellets+vibra( ill introduce hikari cichlid gold once they get bigger mix with omega cichlid)which they destroy in minutes then at night i feed any of the following frozen brine shrimp/frozen bloodworms/frozen tilapia/frozen shrimp with shell off.. they haven‘t refused anything at this point..i prolly give them carrots/zuccini once a week soon..is this diet ok? until when can i move to once a day? I do plan on feeding once a day even at adulthood.

May want to get some veggies in there, piranhas are omnivores in nature.

Oh ok with once a week veggie is that ok? And is it ok if i like throw in a piece of veggie in the tank before i leave in the morning and take it out when i get home? I heard veggies dont deteriorate that fast inside the aquarium?

The pellets will supply veggie matter as well. Once a week is probably good. That should be fine with the p’s as long as they eat it before it fouls up the water you should be good. If they don’t show interest you can take it out. Maybe do it before water change day so if it does start decomposing at least you are cleaning the next day.

Probably wouldn’t hurt. Variety is key.

Mine ate the plastic plants, so I’d say anything fish safe. Peas of spinach would work. They shouldn’t have a lot of veggies, just a small amount every once in a while.

wow you learn something new everyday, i have raised and bred red bellies dozens of times over the past 40 years and never once thought to feed them fresh veggies, next go around with them i am certainly going to try this ?
