Is this fin rot?

I bought this little (4 inches) juvi 2 weeks ago and its fins were already like this, hasn't really shown signs of healing if any. Can anyone tell me if its fin rot and what's the best way to treat it? Thanks in advance.

i would try to cut (U shape) the portion that is missing but not all of them so that the new grow out fin will have an existing structure to grow along. I cut the tail of my RTG before and it grow out just fine so don't worry about it's healing matter. good luck.

you don't have to stress the little guy by doing any cutting procedure on it
just leave it and the fins will get alright soon enuff

Stresscoat and Melafix, good diet and he should be fine in a couple of weeks...

Cool thanks guys. Yeah I don't wanna cut his fins either, I'd feel kinda bad and he's only 4 inches lol.

Nah give him time a, little aquarium salt and some melafix.
