Is this fish safe ?

I would assume so, washed well, idk about the silica part, some of the more experienced member will chime in soon probably
I read the link but I don’t see if it makes it safe lol. I’m going to search if anyone has used this for their aquariums. What white PFS do you guys recommend ?
I know people use pool filter sand as substrate, but I can’t speak on this brand

Broadly, it says that silica sand is regular sand without impurities, and that it is inert. So it will be safe.
I’ve used silica sand before. I never had an issue w/ it not being fish safe but there are some aspects to it that caused me to remove and dispose of it. Short view is:
- if that material gets into your filter (and it will) it’ll eat your impeller
- it’s light weight and doesn’t settle rapidly like Peace River or similar
- forget vacuuming. You’ll just slurp that stuff right out
- dust is too fine for cylia to remove from lungs (don’t inhale the dust)!
- must keep filter intake higher than you might normally
