is this fixable?

It depends on which pane is cracked, and if the frame has enough strength to keep the seams in check. If its the front bow, forgetaboutit.
I have fixed many tanks, with cracks on back, ends and bottom by sandwiching the cracks between to panes of glass successfully(the panes must extend further than the cracks).
But if the seams are pulling apart, it can be hopeless.

from the looks of it, I'd probably have to strip all sides of silicone, get a replacement side panel and re silicone everything.

On the tank in my photos, there was a 15" hairline crack in the right panel, and another 12" hairline in the back panel. After fixing it by sandwiching the cracks, I had the tank up for a couple years, and when I moved, gave it away, and I believe it is still up and running.

Best way to do it is to completely dissemble the tank and rebuild it. A lot of work for $100 if you do it properly. I'd give him $50 or free as it is a cracked tank!!
