Is this foam aquarium safe?

Ive been wondering about this for a long time.

It's for keeping leaves out of gutters, the pores are large but have a similar pore structure to some of the reticulated sponge filters and intake prefilters.

It's synthetic and is intended for prolonged immersion in water.

For the price it can't be beat for a budget sump media or to be cut for sponge filters.

I can't see the brand but many of them contain a germicide, antimicrobial or a fungicide treatment.
 
if that says "gutterfill" on the front, deeda is correct they have anti-microbial/fungal properties which probably wouldn't translate well into the aquarium world.

had the same thought about a year ago till I saw the antimicrobial on it...
