Is this type of Criva Pebble from Lowes safe for aquarium? There are some crushed seashells in it. This stuff is almost as fine as a grain of sand.

i see people use it, maybe just wash it a lot. and test it using goldfish feeder. if it dies, then it is not safe. not sure.

If it has seashell in it, it's possible the stuff could change ph (raise it). Test to be sure.

the seashells will give you some buffering.... if that's not a problem just rince it real well and put it in....

Looks fine....What are you paying for it???

I think I paid $8.97 for a 50 lbs bag. Not the cheapest gravel choice but it was still way cheaper than the LFS which charges $5 for a lb of gravel. Plus in my opinion the gravel looks very natural and it felt like sand since the grain are almost as small as a grain of rice. I bought two bags and it was enough to fill up my 5 ft tank. I check the pH last night and was it was a solid 7.8 which is normal for SoCal tap water.

Keep us updated, as It has a Red Flint Look to it......I am actually buying some red flint from ray777 and it would work great with it as the red flint has a bigger grain.....
