Is this guy a fader?

This little fh caught my eye today at an LFS. I was wondering if anyone's expertise would be able to tell if he'll turn into a fader. Apologies for the crappy pic...the flash went off, but this guy looked basically white with slight yellow and pink highlights otherwise.

No way to tell unless it starts to fade but it usually isn't until around 3", some fade sooner and some latter.

I'd say he was a little shy of 3 inches, but pretty close. Thanks for the info, Wiseman.

for the fader you will notice they faded part of the body slowly not a whole body at once, its look like they got beat up and color is all mess up. so like you said the whole body is white and the flower line is not darken its just mean the fish is not in a right water parameter.

A fading FH can only been confirmed "fader" when his scales and color all seem very ugly, like the skin is cracking and coming of.. what it really is happening is the color on the scales coming off.. and the only remaining color is the bottom color layer...

Hard to describe... but if u see ur fish has cracks on his skin... and he's not injured.. this means he's a fader...

I've attach pictures of my own Faded Golden Platnium.... he looked like a very bright Red Dragon when young, but as he got older... color started to crack, and faded.. and now he looks like a SRT....

Wow! He's magnificent.
I'll have to keep an eye on this guy to see if his flower line boldens up (there was no price on the tank for him, so its plausible that he was recently moved) and look for this cracking characteristic.

The frys are now at 2cm, I'm gonna be selling them once they've reach the 1 inch mark...

Its possible, but no way to tell for sure. You miss out bro, I was giving a guaranteed fader away. I posted in the MD section several times. Im sure you woulda liked him.

Haha....believe me Musha, I'm kicking myself now for it. A few really nice faders have been on the local scene lately.
The only reason I didn't hop on them was that I didn't really have a tank for it (not that I couldn't have figured something out with that ), and I'm moving in 3 weeks, so I was being lazy about transporting an additional tank.
