its a mayan, mayans can be told at any size by the fact that the occelaris (tail spot) reach the entire width of the tail base, wheresa on true Festae it only takes up the upper portion.
for example here is my male festae
see how the black dot near the tail is significantly smaller?

I only paid 20 for my festae in the LFS and I got him about 2 weeks ago. someone gave it in and they were just selling it as a miscelaneous cichlid
Yep definitely a mayan go by the tailspot. I got my male festae listed as a mayan and argued with the guy since I knew it was festae o well. Anyways that mayan looks to have some bad hole in the head
