is this heater burn?

these are the best pictures i can get with my cell phone but anyways the otherday i woke up to see what looked like my female motoro burned but not to bad and then a couple days later the skin fell off on the spot and was white FLESHY looking but still not to bad but its been about 5-6 days now since it happen and this is what it looks like and it seems to be getting worse LIKE MAYBE ITS SPREDDING!!:nilly: in the pictures the black spots on the wound is the SAND PARTICLES, i have been adding about a HEAPING TABLESPOON OF AQUARIUM SALT PER 5 GALLONS of water and temp is between 82 and 84.5'f. and during my routine water changes i use prime. i changed my heaters out to the RENASMART HEATERs the morning i seeen what I THINK is heater burn? HOPEFULLY THATS ALL IT IS!! she is still very active and eating good!

ya me too!! but why im not sure its heater burn though is beacause i would keep my heaters horizontaly on the back wall bout an 1" below water line and they RARELY go on the back wall! but looked like it the first couple days (still kinda does) but looks to be getting worse
 
i dont know anything about rays, but its not a fungal infection or anything like that is it....coz u said it was spreading thats all...sorry ur probably all laughing at me

i dont mean spreading like it is starting in other areas of her body i just mean GETTING BIGGER i should say

rays swim to the top of the tank. just cuz its that high up does not mean they won't run into it. Get a heater guard or make one there really easy to make.

it looks like it was swimming up and ran into you horizontal heater and if its not getting any better you could try some melafix. But if your waters in good shape it should heal up just fine on its own.

thank you, thats why i said i replaced them with the RENASMART HEATER the morning i seen the burn..

yea thats what i figured she did but wasnt sure after its seemimg to get BIGGER:WHOA: but ill really keep my eyes:eek: on it to see if its getting worse id love for conformation that this is only a burn (not that it is a good thing but atleast better then fungus or something)!


i just did a 50% water change and added a 3lb box of MORTON KOSHER SALT
