Noticed this today when I came home from work.. looks like heater burn?

Housed with a female motoro, 5 datnoids, and tin foil barbs.

Params are 0,0,10.

What can I do to help with the healing process as well?

He's still active and eating like a pig any thing and everything you drop in the tank.

I've moved the heaters up on the back wall of the tank, and I am making covers for them although, I don't know if this would cause heater burn, because they are in all my tanks, and my eels love to coil around them, and they never get burnt.

Maybe a bite from the female?

nice motoro, and yes look lik heater burn.

Ok, So here are some pics of what it looks like today... I am assuming this is normal after having skin burnt...

Still doing 50% water changes daily, and water is still great. 0,0,10. Temp on the tank is 80F.

Should I use binox or salt at all to offset a possible fungus infection? I did notice the dead/burnt skin has a fuzz look to it, but I don't know if it's just dead skin pieces, or something of concern.. it popped up literally overnight.

Still active, and eating. No signs of discomfort.

Sorry the pics aren't good... he wouldn't sit still.

From the pics it doesn't look too bad, I would try and hold off on any meds and just keep the water clean like you have been

Some people swear by melafix I think it is snake oil, but I figure I would mention it because a lot of people swear it cuts down healing time. It is up to you if you want to try it or not :)

I would look for some improvement in the next few days. If in a week it doesn't look better or looks worse then I would be concerned.

Very nice motoro for sure btw :)

So, this is normal? I've never had a fish with heater burn- so I really don't know what it should look like.

I'm trying to find a female with his light coloration.. but no luck.
