I have had this fish for 6 months situation hasn’t gotten better or worse. Eye has always had the brown bar top and bottom.

Is this an issue? Datnoid is about 5-6 inches. He has been in QT for months I have treated with metro and prozzi and salt meds were put in food so far no change.

If this is HITH. I would like to resolve otherwise will have to keep it separate from other fish

I’d say it does look like hith.

Permanent scars or can be reversed?
Are other fish at risk?
None of my other datnoids have eye shading is that a secondary issue?

I don't think dats get HITH like cichlids.

He does look pretty rough and his eye is opaque. I have seen this often when water conditions are off. What temperature is the water?

Might get better but if it’s scarred then some remnant will stay behind.
