Have you tested your water?
No
If I did not test my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?
Yes
What percentage of water do you change?
31-40%
How frequently do you change your water?
Every month
If I do not change my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be recommended to do a water change, and water changes are critical for preventing future freshwater health problems.
I got this big crenicichla red atabapo like 6 months ago, it is a wild cloth and doesn't want to eat frozen foods (shrimp, mussels and small frozen fish) so I feed her live earth warms.
It developed some scratches on the hear that at first I thought were scratches from the wood in the tank but it's not healing. Do you know what this is and how to treat it? Should I separate the fish in a different aquarium or treat the whole tank?

It’s hith. Cincreae water changes to 50% weekly. Can try metronidazole and methylene blue dips. If not better then move to a qt tank with tannins and soft/acidic water. Red pikes come from water with very low or 0 tds of I remember right.

Thank you, I will try this! Should I increase filtration with a big internal filter? And what food should I feed since it will only accept live food?

Agree with kno4te.
The fish yoiu are keeping typically experience 100% water changes per day in nature, and come from nitrate free waters..
The type water changes you are doing per month do not even scratch the surface, for a healthy environment in comparison, and no amount of extra filtration will counteract that lack of clean water exchange maintenance.
