Is This Ich or Something Else?

Been fishkeeping for 6+ years and have never had or seen a case of Ich in person so I ask here.

Is this Ich or something else to be concerned about in my Red Sev's caudal fin?




No other fish in the tank anything like this.

That looks a little like ich but it isn't necessarily. Is it only on the fin? If it's ich, and it's getting worse, you'll see it spread to different parts of the fish. It's always especially bad if you see them sticking to the fish's eyes.

That aside, I've seen fin injuries that look a lot like this.

I have red sevrums and one of them has the same thing on his tail. No where else on the fish. I just keep watching closely to make sure it's not spreading. Ive been keeping fish for a long time and never experienced this. My sevs have had ich but just when I first got them.

If its just on the fin its not ich. Does not look like ich to me.

OK, thanks for the replies. I'll just continue to keep a close eye on it. Keeping the no-ich streak alive.
