I just purchased a Super Actinic 420nm T-5 HO fluorescent tube for my perfecto light fixture. Are they compatible? I hope so...cuz I just ordered it yesterday and just now read that it says (on the website) "Use these T-5 HO Tubes as replacement tubes for the Marineland T5-48 fixture or any appropriate T-5 fluorescent light fixture. Use T-5 tubes with T-5 compatible light fixtures with high-powered electronic ballasts to help increase efficiency and tube life."

I hope I just didn't make a mistake :(

Assuming that your fixture is a T-5 perfecto fixture, and you got the right size bulb, it should fit and your fixture should be able to handle it. Looks like a good light though.

Never really had experience with T-5s before but I hope they are compatible, work well and you enjoy your new bulbs!

Also, have a Happy New Year!

If your fixture is made for T5 HO bulbs and you got the right length, then yes. Any brand/color in the right size should work

All my light fixture says on it is Perfecto...so I'm not sure if its made for T5HO bulbs...I don't see why you cant put bulbs that are the right length in different brand fixtures

...maybe I'll just have to see if it fits/is compatible when it arrives within the next couple of days

& have a Happy New Year

T5 and T8 bulbs have different endcaps. Yours is most likes t8 if it doesn't say t5. Can you post a pic? Does your bulb now just have 2 prongs on each end?

yup 2 prongs and ill go look and see if it says anything else on it besides perfecto

...Nope just says Perfecto on it, I got the light fixture free with the purchase of a used tank so I know nothing about it. Right now it has a Power-Glo bulb in it

High output bulbs only work in high output fixtures. There are different ballast used in regular and high output fixtures.

:swear::swear::swear:I was hoping it would just reduce the bulbs life....
