is this loisellei??

i bought them as cichlasoma parachromis loisellei panama, is there anybody who has these also:) there awesome ive got 2 males and 3 femalesP1010060.JPG

i have one. its hard to tell with all these parachromis when they are young.

this is mine at8" - male

is yours stressed at all. he doesnt seem to beshowing a lot of color.

the top picture looks like a female that has stressed coloration and just isnt showing that well. but it looks like a lois

Looks like a Parachromis loisellei to me. But I agree, it's hard to tell at young ages. Here's what my 7-8" female looks like.

How big are they?
They look to be lacking the big black opercular blotch which should be quite notable, even at a young age. Then again there are color/pattern variations within the species so I'm not counting that as a reliably defining factor.
What confuses me is that the first one doesn't even have the classic lois face. It's almost Amphilophus-like. Some of the others look to have a Parachromis like face and body, only a little more pointed and elongated.
 
I'm going to break with the MFK tradition of everyone agreeing with the first person to post an ID and say that top picture looks like a female dovii. If it's around four inches or so it looks pretty much exactly like females I have owned at that size.

yes exactly what i'd say, the spoting is way small for loiselli of anysize, and head shape is wrong.

my money would say hybrid.
