i just picked up my new p bass and he is breathing really fast but pretty active ans healthy
is he just scared cuz he is new ot the tank???

was he doing good before you purchased him? when my lfs gets new fish in, i usually wait a week or more depending on how fast they are selling just to make sure that they are healthy. and as long as your water tests look good, that should calm your nerves. Every new pbass i have introduced to my tank usually start of breathing hard but not for to long. and they also like to hide everytime i walk into the room and that usually lasts for about a week. But now they swim up to the top everytime i walk into the room, thinking that imma feed them.
