i just got my pink convict a male she seems to try and fight him even though they are the same size he doesn't fight back he just ignores her then he starts to run is this courtship or what i dont know i am hopeing to get them to breed. so is this normal for breeding or not

now the male has a few little rips in his tail fin

The female might be just defending territory since you just added the male. She thinks it's her tank kind of deal. If the male is cowering in a corner or behind a plant/decoration then I would say they are fighting. I've heard of people taking both fish out for a few days and changing the decoration around then add both back at the same time. This way they won't have a territory.

Provided tjhey are not cowering and he is not hurt to bad rearange the tank and be patient Recently aquired a male to go with my female a week later I think the have eggs.

how long do they take to hatch?
