My one frontosa has developed weird bumps on his hump. Are those normal? If not what are they likely a symptom of?

They aren't Pits so I don't think hole in the head. He's about 7 inches long. Tank is perfect water quality, ph 8 and temp 80. Diet is varied between raw shrimp and veggies and an assortment of processed foods. Eats well behaves well.

Not sure what that is but it's not normal (I've kept fronts in some form for over a dozen years). The other thing I notice is that guy is overweight. They should really have a flat lower profile, not rounded at all or bulging, especially at that size. First impression is it suggests to me overfeeding or possible bloat (something fronts are not especially prone to, but it can happen). Even when my females have eggs they don't look like that. Not questioning your care or fishkeeping experience, just pointing out something not everyone knows about what they're should look like.

He had just gotten greedy during the last feeding, he's definitely a bulkier stockier fish but that gut is him filling up on koi pellets he was denying the subdominant male, no worries the tank is immaculate that is why I'm confused. None of the other fronts I have show these bumps. I got 4 from one breeder and was given the other 2 I think this is one of the fronts I was given. No fish have been introduced into this tank in 6 months

Though it seems my nitrates have crept up on me, going to test my tap water as that tank gets allot of attention and is very clean, I suspect I might be putting those in the tank.
