first i know temensis grow fast..i got 3 temensis from rapps almost 2 months ago @ 1.5'' (may 30th) and they are easily pushing 6''...my question is this normal growth rate for tems or is this pretty quick? i have had tmes in the past but none i never grewout..

Its said that they're the fastest when its comes to cichla. but IMO 4.5'' in 2 months is good growth rate for any fish. And tank size is a factor as well in cichla as you know. You give them the space they start to stretch out a lot faster.

thanks for the feed back guys..i feed them 3 times a day frozen shrimp stuffed with full size hikari sinking carnivore pellets..siphon out 5 gallons of water each morning (cleaning poop/left over food) every sunday 50% wc..60 feeders (rosie reds) every two weeks as a treat..lasts 24-30 hours..i cant wait for the growth spurt lol..want them in my 180 already..

You can increase their metabolism by raising the temp to around 88-90 that will put them in a frenzy every time you feed them, and that should get them growing even more, but to be honest you can't rush these things. Its part of the game bro you're just going to have to sit and wait till they beef up.

And from my experience with feeding my cichla shrimp, I wouldn't make it a 3 times a day kinda meal even with stuffed carnivore pellets. A good idea would be working them with that about twice a day with pellets stuffed. Start trying to get them eating tilapia, if you don't already. Shrimp has very little nutritional value as I found out, and they will burn it off even though they look stuffed. I recently tried broken up carnivore pellets with tiny bits of tilapia for some grow outs(that will be a surprise later on in the future:naughty::grinyes:) and they ate all the stuff up big time! But Mike do what you're doing because its obviously working very well;)

But I can't tell you to much, because I talk to much already haha

Wow thats amazing growth. Im picking up a Tem next week, if I manage to get that sort of growth it will be in my 240 with the others in no time

If you'd keep your bass for more than 6 months you'd see some real growth :)
I'd like to see you keep a bass for more than a year Mike.
Cmon bud....you can do it!
