I have a Geophagus surinamensis around 5" now. Its coloring up very nicely so I can't tell if this redness along the bottom of the gill line is normal or infection.

Acting normally and eating well. The only thing is occasionally (like once per week) I've seen it scratch like ich. I've already gone thru 2 treatments for rid ich and treated twice with prazipro in case they were gill flukes.

Thanks!

Probably nothing. Fish, like people, get itches and need to scratch. They don't have hands, so they have to rub on something. If you see it happening alot(all day, every day) then you have a problem.
