hey frds!! today morning i saw my female stingray floating on d top......for a while and den when i went closer it went down towards the bottom....just wanted to know is this normal??or she is ill?my ray is jus 4-5 months old!

There are some info on this in the forum, just search it. Does it float like a dried leaf? Happened to my female ray but just did some water changes, added some salt and she settled alright. I observed that this sometime reoccur when I overfeed and there are left over in the tank, that I'm too lazy to clean up. Hope your ray settles in alright.

Check for ammonia, nitrite, ph and then nitrate and make sure you have maximum surface agitation as the oxygen may be low.

How old is the tank and filter, how long have you had the ray?

Some rays do just do this sort of thing but it is rare, normally this is a water quality problem.

I would do a large water change and do not use dip strip tests, buy a new set of kits as they go out of date.

If water parameters are good, it's probably just something your ray likes to do. I have one who spends almost the whole day surfing the current of an FX5 outflow but the water is good and the 3 other rays in the tank stay on the tank floor. She usually stops when I'm around the tank but maybe I'll try to get a video.

hey thanks for ur reply!!
it ws just because of over feeding.........a few hours l8r i found it doing huge ****!! :-p

I dnt think it is overfed.... i don't think that rays could be overfed. I'd still looking out for the ray just to make sure.
