My silver aro kindof prefers the dark than light lol

so i was just wondering is this normal.

he/she doesnt mind the lights, but she/he eats more and swims more confidently in the dark

yea, when they're smaller they feel more comfortable in the dark. When they get larger, they don't really care.

Their natural environment is the murky waters in rivers, under the shade of branches n lilly pads. Thats why people add blackwater to make aros feel more comfortable.

Bright lights can scare young arowana but they usually grow out of this stage.

I would be keeping the lights darker to prevent any stress. You will find as it gets older and larger it will become more confident.

mine silver aro is just under 2ft long

Mine doesn't seem to mind any type of lighting and he's about ten inches.
