Ok so I got a big RTCxTSN 2' (if not bigger) and the past few days every once in awhile when I go look at the tank he's standing almost on his head. not moving really any part of his body but his tail. and very little at that. Now I can walk around and look at him and he won't move. Untill I put my hand up to the glass then he moves and swims away like nothing happened. I have seen him do this twice and my G/f has seen it once. Is this something I should be worried about or is he just chillin' ?

Could be filtration/heating issues.

my tsn does that too but he's still a little guy. hmmm he likes to lay nose down by the undergravel tube in the back corner of the tank.

its probably bored or theres some kind of territorial issue going on. does it have any tankmates?

When I see shovelnoses in fish shops, they sometimes do that, especially Limas. But I've seen it out of TSN-types too, so I would assume that a hybrid might do it as well. I wouldn't worry much- just make sure temp/water paramters are savvy.

Limas do this all the time, in the wild they stand on their heads in reeds to hunt etc.

Mine does it all the time as well at the side of the glass, not owned a tiger so cant really comment on that, but if it was mine I wouldnt be to worried.

Umm. ok :screwy: seems to be a funny guy. :screwy:

Well Since the gen. pop. thinks it's ok then I'm not worried. He's not pumping his gilld like he can't breathe he's got almost 600 gallons and only 3 tankmates. so he's not stressed by them. he's the second biggest. and I dought it's a territory thing. no one in that tanks fights. they climb all over each other most of the time. So I won't worry. thanks guys. If I can get a pic I will.
