Fishing at the lake
After using alge destroyer my amonia and nitrite level went over 8.0.is this normal?I'm worried about my fishes.this is my first time using any type of algae removal product.please help.

I'd recommend lowering the hours of light in the tank, and more frequent tank cleaning and water changes to combat the algae as opposed to the algae destroyer. I went your route with the algae destroyer and had no luck, and then followed the advice I'm giving you and my algae is well under control. Also try to create less food waste by not overfeeding your fish.

For ammonia I'd recommend a ammonia pouch for your filter assuming you have a hang on back filter. Nitrites, not so sure. Search on MFK 'Nitrite removal' or read the sticky posts in Setup and Filtration, you may find an answer there if no one responds.

I doubt that's accurate, your fish would be dead before you took the reading. Maybe the treatment is messing with your testing kit?

Also you should list your tank setup, like size, fish, filters, what you treat the water with, how long you have had tank, if it's cycled, etc.

i bought the set up from a friend, its an 60 gal with an 25 gal sump.i had the tank for about 3 months now and it was cyled for two weeks.i treat the water with amquel plus and nov aqua plus.i currently have a VATF,RTCxTSN,and a couple common plecos.i feed them market shrimp and freeze dried shrimp twice sometimes 3 times a day.i do a 20% weekly water change and water temp is at 86 degrees.

Umm... I hope you do understand that your RTC will soon, not just out grow the tank, but be very much larger than the tank, stand, and your sump combined.

That aside, I think your over feeding. Unless they are ALL just fry. Depending on the size of these fellows, which again, they must all be babies to be in a 60g together... but the larger the fish, the less often you feed them.

In my opinion, the tank isn't cycled... 2 weeks? I would have given it 4-6 weeks... Also, why only 20% WC? Feeding the way you do, I'd do MINIMUM 50% a week, maybe even 1-50% and 1-25% a week....
