Is this normal?

There are these weird brown/ orange dots all over one of my fake decorations in the tank. What do. you guys think it is?

Diatoms eating silicates. It's either from your substrate or sometimes the water facility uses silica sand during their water filtration process.

Yeah it's definitely as a result of your sand. It should go away within a few months.

Ok thank you but how was this a result of the sand. Was there some bacteria living in the sand?

Oh i looked it up and there must of been som silicate in the sand. It makes sense now

Normal process diatoms are usually the first to show up.
This is a good thing.
It means your tank is progressing.
