I probably should have asked first before asking what paint is safe, but I already have about a foot long section of this in my tank and my fish seem to like it. Mine is about a 4" diameter though. I still have about 4' of it left and I wanted to construct another hide out of it.
It's made out of polypropylene.

Should be OK

safe enough but look's like hell, don't do it!!!! just my opinion.

safe but i won't use it either

cover it with substrate and should be fine and dandy

that stuff can sometimes have sharp edges. no biggie if it's small fish, but if they grow big enough they can scrape themselves trying to fit in where they no longer can. give the edges a little sanding if they're sharp.

You can use the PL black Roofing adhesive... smear it over the piping, and apply substrate IF you are worried about it blending in.

Let the piece sit at least 48 hours before adding into tank.

I've done this with pvc, and I've used the PL to seal fish tank things all the time.

Try PVC piping.....Unless you are burying the tube undert the gravel, do not do it...That flex tubing is really ugly...............
