I put my tank on a table that can hold it's weight, but the tank is 48" and the table is 46.5". Will this be ok to have like .75 of an inch hanging off each side?

ummmmmm i wanna say its not worth the risk. ive seen similar situations work but personally i wouldnt.

cut a piece if 3/4 plywood the size of the tank and put it under it. this should at least help

So it could crack?

it could put excess strees on the joints a glass tank gets all its support from the edges of the frame, i would not risk it build a simple 2x4 stand for it its pretty cheap and easy

its just very hard to get it perfectly balanced and it will put excess pressure on either the right or left side. do you have a pics of this set up?

Sounds like a really bad idea to me....

Ok, I'm just gonna buy a stand. It didn't seem like a good idea, but I'm short on money so I was just looking around my house for an old table.

I understand completely. Have you checked out maybe a Do it your self stand ? Very cheap and as strong as you want :)
