is this over kill?

i have a 72" 24"H 36"W with a sump i also have 2 Eheim 2080. do you think i need both the eheim atached?

not necessarily if you need the filters on another tank, but overfiltration never hurts. if you dont need them on another tank i would leave them. i always overfilter my tank alot.

Depends on your sump size / media volume.

Except if the output is too strong that your fish is getting pushed around by the current like a baseball.

I say pack up that filter and send it to me . I would say as long as your fish are not bothered by it you can never have enough filters, not because you can never have enough filter media but that you no have a backup in case on fails.

Necessary? No. Would it help? Possibly. I always run a pair of anything for redundancy sake. gives you a little more pom for sure.
