Is this POTM quality?

Well, the head is out of focus,there's millions of micro bubbles, and the yellow light is distracting, so no for me.

Its good enough for the POTM but IMO not good enough to win.

Still a cool shot though.

It's a great pic. I would agree though most of us(including me) are outclassed by some of the great photographers here. I would talk to someone like levi and see if there's a way in photoshop to edit out the bubbles/glare/light. Most great pics you see have some photo shop in them.

You can easily photoshop the yellow blob out, the bubbles are a different story.

probably light in his room or off the camera, I get the yellow blob sometimes if I forget to unscrew the bulb in front of my 75
