is this Protruding Scales Disease

just like the title sayes.. it happened few days ago but didn't really reconized it but the problem have worsten.. the first picture the disease is at the middle of the body, second it's when i change the water the effected area looks like it's fizzing with slim and from looking from the back of the aro, the scales looks like tilted out.. i had it for 4 years now. what shall i do and how to cure it?

That fizz is probably the slim coating coming off. It usually happens when the arowana is stressed. It has also occurred sometimes after a water change, such as in your situation. Hard to tell from the pictures if its protruding, however I would put some salt in the tank and raise the temperature to try and keep bacteria from entering in between the scales.

The scales do look a bit rough, so maybe a dose of stress coat or anything that will help it to replenish its slime coat will help you. If you start to see fungus or infection in between the scales, let us know.

L()L good observation there Aeri.. yes i'm in NY City... had the aro for a while now.. with a cert from panda aquatic, which i beleive that's the first batch of super red.. when i read the article in the disease portion of the aro sticky. i didn't understand the part where it mentions about "Scales tilt at every 5th to 8th scale," mine tilt at an batch of area that's about 1.5" above the belly...when the aro turns and swims away i can see it clearly of the scale tilted out of the body about an 1/16 - 1/32". i do add lots of salt when changing water and stress coat with little bit of alkinline buffer. and i kept my tank temperture at 78-80 degress.. i have changed it when i read the article to 82-84 degress.. i think my water quality is poor but i have an UV light running all the time.. i'm thinking about getting a diatom filter.. but few weeks ago when my blood parrots got some sort of disease so i have added small amount of carbon into the filter ( eheim 2260) and seperated tank to treat the parrots and after treating the parrots. i then put back into the tank and i left the carbon in the filter for 2-3 weeks and now it's removed. but i think i should add it back into the filter again. it's eating little so i know it's not doing good. what shall i do?
