Hi all,
I posted recently about adding 4 stable IT's to my exisitng unstable 2 nr IT's.
Well, something quite odd happended 3 days ago. The new additons have been in the tank for 3 weeks now.
The 2 unstable IT's, 8" and 10" have showed different colourations.
the 7", showing signs of dark bars on body, with not so light bars in between, but not as gold or creamy white as the new ones, still can't be disapointed.
The 10", is going almost, a combination, of pale orangy, very light bronze and almost a shade of peach colour. The blck bars are almost faded, and he has developed a sort-off, its hard to describe, but a tiger with no stripes.... Very weird
.. see pic ...Never seen this for the 4 years i had them both.
Lets consider whats changed:
1) 4 new stable dats added, better competition and IT like to swarm in groups.
2) I fed them defrosted lance fish on SUnday, first time ever. Big tiger ate loads. The next morning at about 7pm, it looked like this. see pic (you'll know which one). Its still like this 2 days later.
Pretty sure it was not the shcok of turning on lights or camera flash.
3) Introduced 1 extra 20% water change mid week wednesday.
(Normally I do 30-35% once a week at weekend)
Based on the pics:
Is this a sign either or both will stablisie?
Has any DAT enthuisiast seen this happen to theirs?
appreciate your thoughts guys.thanks
